Sometimes, I wish I were a cat. They have the best lives. Or at least mine do.

They have fresh food and drinking water without having to go to the store and buy it themselves. They get yummy treats (we call them nom-noms – and they know that word!). They have a box full of toys that they can choose from without having to wait for birthdays or Christmas gifts. They get brushed, petted, and loved on just for looking at you sweetly without having to save up for a day at the spa. They get to lay around all day and play all night and don’t have to worry about deadlines or household chores.

I mean, think about it. How often can you just let it all hang out and sleep with no concerns?

Stretching out for a great nap

Or just go batty and not care if the world is upside or what anyone thinks?

Upside down crazy kitty time

I don’t know about you, but sometimes life just gets in the way. There are responsibilities, deadlines, dishes, laundry, appointments, dinner and bills to pay. Sometimes it just feels like there’s no time to just go “Ahhhh…” and enjoy what is around you. But I don’t see that happening with my kitties. Nope. They don’t let anything get in the way of their dreams.

Not the puppy. Not me. Not even each other. When they want something, they go after it. When they jump and fall the first time, they will try again and again until they land where they want to. Even if it’s on top of my 75 gallon fish tank where they know they aren’t allowed. But the little one did it anyway. I think it was just to prove to himself that he could make it.

You know, I think my kitties my be on to something here. Next time I feel dragged down by the world and full of frustration and doubt, I’m gonna start thinking like a cat. I’m going to relax and forget about the reviews or critiques. I’m going to play and laugh as hard as I can. I’m going to jump on fish tanks to prove that I can make it. Okay, well maybe not that one. But I am going to keep chasing my dreams, no matter what.
