A little about me with 11 questions
A few of my writer friends have played this writing exercise called 11 Questions. I knew it was just a matter of time before it came to me, and I was right. Prudence MacLeod tagged me yesterday. Be sure to go to her blog and check out her answers too!
The rules for 11 Questions:
1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the questions on your blog. Create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged.
3. Tag eleven people and link to them.
4. Let them know you’ve tagged them.
So now, you get to learn a little about me from Prudence’s great questions:
1. What is the greatest thing you’ve found under your sofa cushions?
I raised two children and have had multiple pets in my life. I doubt that I could find anything under the cushions these days that would surprise me. I’ve found candy, socks, puzzle pieces, all sorts of articles of clothing, kitty toys, a dog bone (I think the cats were hiding it from the puppy), pens, crayons, Play-doh, Christmas ornaments, books, magazines, a mini flashlight, barbie dolls, paper clips, a seed starter pod (I have a clepto-kitty), lighters, and a dozen or so other things. Though, I have to say my favorite is the money. 😉
2. Who is your greatest hero?
My sisters, all three of them. I know that everyone has challenges in life, but being they are my siblings, I was able to see how they’ve overcome their personal obstacles to find themselves and their own happiness. When I look at them I see strength, compassion, determination, loyalty, and love. I respect and admire all of them. If I could even be remotely similar to the type of people they are, then I think I’d be doing pretty good.
3. If you went to dinner with your favorite celebrity, what would you order and why?
Sushi. It’s just a fun food with a variety of flavor and is a great conversation starter, or adventure if you want to try something new.
4. What inspired the idea for your current WIP?
I dreamed about the main character, Haedyn. I do that a lot actually. I’m still trying to find a way to write while I’m dreaming. There have been so many times that I’ve had great dreams that could be interesting novel concepts and totally forgotten the details by the time I woke up.
5. Right handed or left?
Right handed, but I’ve always thought it would be cool to be left-handed. I even tried to teach myself to write with my left hand when I was younger. Didn’t work out so well – takes me like 10 minutes just to sign my name and you can still barely read it.
6. Laptop or desktop?
Laptop. Gives me the ability to have a change of scenery while I write. Sometimes my muse just needs some fresh air to liven up her moods, sometimes she just wants to lay on the bed. It’s all about making the muse happy.
7. You wake up in a strange room with a stranger in bed beside you, what’s the first thing you say?
I’ve entered, The Twilight Zone.
8. You suddenly discover you have the power of telekinesis, what’s the first thing you do?
The dishes. Those things have the power to multiple when I turn my back. I don’t care how many times I load the machine, my sinking keeps filling up with more. This way, I could actually sit back with a nice adult beverage and still get the dishes done. 😉
9. Who most inspired you to write?
You know, I’m not sure if there was really just one person. It was more like several people and experiences that brought me to this point. When I was little, I used to love to play pretend and that eventually transferred to creative writing in school. I had several teachers that always encouraged me to pursue my writing and of course, family and friends. I used to write to express myself, to figure out problems, to ease the pain of broken hearts. It is a part of who I am as a person. It just feels like the right thing for me to do with my life – be a writer.
10. You get one big do-over in life, what do you change?
That’s a good question. Several things popped in my head, mostly old boyfriends and really bad relationships. But to be honest, I don’t think I’d change anything. Everything I’ve experienced in life has made me who I am today, and right now my life is pretty good. I wouldn’t want to do anything that might end up changing it.
11. Ballet or pro wrestling?
Definitely ballet. When I was little, I used to watch ballet on TV and dance around the living-room like I was part of the performance.
And those were my 11 Questions. I’m going to break the rules now though, and not tag anyone else as most everyone I know has already answered their own set of inquiries. Hey, sounds like our couches are a lot alike. tee hee It is also amusing how many women would take on the house work first with telekinesis. Personally, I’d vacuum first, then….

Oh I’m imagining the possibilities of being able to write while dreaming–or at least record them and then play them back and write them down. That would be awesome 🙂
And I’m with you on the dishes, but I’d add the laundry hamper too!

Great answers, I especially loved the “do over” answer. It’s so true, we wouldn’t be where we are right now if we changed anything, even the heartbreaks. Everything is a learning experience.
I know what you mean about everyone already answering questions..lol

I agree – everything in life is a learning experience. Sometimes, it takes awhile to learn the lesson though – which explains all my poor choices during my dating years. lol!

Great answers, Jennifer! I love that your sister is your hero. I feel the same way about #10. Although there is a boyfriend I would love to change/delete, having him in the mix has helped mold me into the person I am. 🙂

Ha! For years, I swore my couch cushions had some type of magnetic abilities or something. If I’ve lost something, the first place I look these days is under the couch cushions!
