Jenn, I’m so excited to finally see this up, and even more excited because I love reading dystopic sorts of tales. This future world that you’re hinting at is incredibly creepy because I can see the ways in which they could happen to us (“earning the privilege of education”? Yikes.). Anyway, I will be looking forward to the next installment!

      Lena,
I’m so glad you like it! I’ve been trying really hard to make it realistic but at the same time push the limits of “what if this happened?” Its been very fun to write so far.
      Thank you for stopping by!

Could not stop reading. This is so engaging. I want more. BTW, I’d pay to read this. I’m assuming this will be book-length one day soon. 🙂

      Sara,
Thank you so much! Yes, the goal is to publish the whole “diary” in a book. I’m so glad you like it!

Jen, this is so enthralling. I opened this page, read a couple of sentences, and was hooked. I forgot to eat breakfast, actually. I love what-if tales that are grounded and believable, and you did that with an engaging story. Congrats!
Now I need to get breakfast 🙂

    Jennifer,
You’re not old enough to remember when we rehearsed in school what to do in the event of a nuclear attack – sorta like an earthquake drill but hotter. I do remember, and I can tell you that your first entry here has given me goosebumps that are still going. This exact scenario was one of my biggest fears when I was Kennan’s age. You nailed it. Strong work!

Jennifer, I was pulled into the story right away. I love your voice. And even though this is fiction, unfortunately, this seems too real, as in, this could happen. Can’t wait to read the rest! 🙂

Jennifer, I,also, remember the drills and the underground shelters that some folks built!
Wow…you have really captured it! I look forward to reading the rest of the diary..you’ve got me hooked ! Good job!

Wow! All I can say is where’s the rest of it? I’m hooked. Excellent beginning and very well written. You shouldn’t have any trouble getting this published if the rest is as good as the beginning and I’ll certainly buy it. You have a greally great style of writing and making it very believable. Don’t stop now.
